Dr. Diana Butler Bass is an author, speaker, and independent scholar specializing in American religion and culture. She holds a Ph.D. in religious studies from Duke University and is the author of several noteworthy books, including Grounded: Finding God in the World —A Spiritual Revolution, Christianity After Religion: The End of Church and the Birth of a New Spiritual Awakening and Grateful: The Transformative Power of Giving Thanks. Dr. Butler Bass has spoken at Micah a number of times. We are delighted to have her with us for this conversation.
Rabbi Larry Hoffman is a well-known and frequent visitor to the Micah community. He is professor emeritus of liturgy at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. He is known for his liberal religious views. His writing spans many academic fields including the history of Jewish liturgy, issues of liturgical change, Jewish theology and the sociology of American Jewish life. He has taught and mentored scores of American rabbis including Micah’s current rabbinical team.
